Join The Marketplace and Chabad of Bakersfield for a community Menorah Lighting in celebration of the first night of Hanukkah!

Time: 5:00 PM (Menorah lighting at approximately 5:15 PM)
Location: The Marketplace – 9000 Ming Ave, Bakersfield, CA
At a time when bringing light into the world feels more important than ever, the menorah stands as a symbol of hope, freedom, and unity. This family-friendly celebration is free and open to everyone.
Enjoy an evening of:
- Fresh hot latkes (potato pancakes) and doughnuts
- Festive music
- Face painting
- Free dreidels and hands-on activities for children
- A short, meaningful program explaining the story and message of Hanukkah
Community leaders and dignitaries will join Rabbi Shmuel Schlanger in kindling the giant public menorah in a festive and uplifting ceremony.
